Vilnius

Vilnius, the capital and largest city of Lithuania, is best known for its beautiful Old Town, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. It is located in the southeast of the country at the confluence of the Vilnia and Neris rivers. The University of Vilnius is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Today, the university consists of 14 faculties and enables studies in English, which attracts many students from around the world. The certificates issued by the university are recognized by a large number of countries in the world, the countries of the European Union, the USA and also Israel. Vilnius, like any self-respecting European city, offers a wide variety of restaurants, shopping, museums and diverse attractions and this makes it a cosmopolitan, established and young city. A small and magical town called Tarakai lies about 30 km away from Vilnius. The gem of the town, this is an ancient castle that is hundreds of years old and was used throughout history by the great predatory dynasty of Lithuania. The castle is located in the center of Galba Lake. Around the lake there are many hotels, guesthouses and restaurants.
